Robert Grosseteste (c. 1175 – 9 October 1253) was a Tau'ri philosopher from the Middle Ages. In 2008, Richard Woolsey planned to use one of his quotes on the Daedalus, as part of a welcome speech to "Todd" and his Wraith. However, just as he was about to say the quote in question (probably Grosseteste's most famous dictum, "United we stand, divided we fall"), "Todd" wanted to get straight into the point of giving the Wraith a gene therapy to eliminate their need to feed.
