The plot of the game is very close to that of Ocarina of Time, but it is also altered in several different ways. The setting is an alternate reality where the Ocarina of Time is replaced by a new instrument, the Ocarina of Dimensions. The player uses the Ocarina of Dimensions to transport between different realities, which helps in obtaining certain items or completing several puzzles.
