Helga Van Mayter was a female engineer assigned to the USS Enterprise-D in the mid-2360s. While aboard the Enterprise, she was part of a small social group which dubbed itself the "corner office". In 2365, Van Mayter was part of the crew of the USS Hathaway during a war games exercise agaist the Enterprise, during which she earned a commendation.
