The Galactic People's Confederated State, also known as the Second Federation, was the government over most of humanity from ~2600 up until the crash of human civilization around 3000. Started as a military coup, the GPCS soon branched out to capture all human colonies. It ruled with an iron fist, though eventually opening up to democratic rule. Eventually, with the robotic rebellions and biological rebellions, as well as computer and biological viruses spreading, the government lost control.
