The Elysium Genocide of 2018 was the mass extermination of, initially, the heroes of Elysium but later the heroes of the rest of the world. Taking place in an alternate future, John was responsible for the event, which initiated his conversion into his extremist alter ego Oblivion. The incident is focal in Oblivion's history. Following the intrusion of John of the Prime Universe, the Elysium Genocide of 2018 was reverted as Oblivion followed John into the past, preventing his future from ever occurring.
