Ludwig volunteered to be a guinea pig for the Militants' scientific forays in chemical enhancement. Strapped to the inside of his lightweight armor are packs containing chemicals with IVs going to directly into his body. Within his body is a nanite factory to repair injuries. These chemicals, mixed with the nanites, give him great power; he can work with only a few hours of sleep a day, can leap, move, run, fight and do nearly any physical feat quicker and better than a unenhanced human. With these come a horrible side effect: because of these chemicals, none of the test subjects have yet to live past their fifth year, and Ludwig is now entering his fourth.
