Random Encounters only take place in free roam mode. The player will run across a crew member of TFK, Bushido, 21st Street Crew or Stacked Deck depending on the location. The rivalling racer will challenge the player to a race, who can also be avoided by leaving him. The finish point of the free roam challenge can be selected by the player. After beating the rivalling crew member, the player will receive a cash reward of 1,000.
