The Savvy Traveler was a radio show produced by Minnesota Public Radio and distributed nationally by American Public Media. After seven years, the show was discontinued. On June 20, 2003, Grover spoke with host Diana Nyad about his adventures as Global Grover. He lists some of the places that he has vistited and shows off some of the languages he's picked up. For example, in Mexico, he learned to say "Dónde esta el baño?," although he sounds embarrassed to translate what it means into English. He also excitedly reports that he walked on stilts taller than buildings in Trinidad and went fishing for "wet fish" in Africa. He says that people can build the biggest zoos, but nothing is quite as thrilling as having seen elephants and giraffes in their natural habitats.
