The Ebonite Squires were those Ebonite Applicants who were not allowed to try the Test of the Ebon Stone, because it was expected they would not pass it for some reasons, so they did not advance to the last year of training, but remained in the Order of the Ebon Hand. They worked as helpers of the other members, librarians, or even teachers. These Ebonite Outcasts were the lower rank of the Order.
