Fields of Hair appeared in the Shadowlands where large numbers of warriors died and were not consumed by goblins or flesh-eating oni. Eventually, a section of the shifting lands sucked them beneath the liquid earth, leaving their hair floating on the surface. These samurai became Dirt-Drowned Dead, and ambushed those who wandered over them.
