The Parry flywheel technology tram is in use on the 0.8-mile Stourbridge Junction-Stourbridge Town line. London Midland, the operator of the new West Midlands franchise, operate a service using two PPM60 units, classified as Class 139, and which replace the single-car Class 153 DMU. One PPM60 unit operates the 10-minute service, the other resides in the service depot at the Junction end of the line. The more environmentally-friendly and far more efficient Class 139 has also seen increased passenger numbers.
