Depends if you mean clinical medicine or research medicine. In the former (clinical) it is unlikely that you will ever apply what was learned in college level physics classes. I have just finished my first year of medical school and have yet to see anything that resembles physics. I imagine its purpose as in premed curriculum is as weeding out course, or proving you can handle the information.
