In "The Worst Stan", Principal Lewis reveals that his family was the inspiration for the television show Diff'rent Strokes including many of the events depicted on the show. When Stan deals with conflicting emotions regarding using Principal Lewis wedding to school superintendent Ellen Riggs just to become a Best Man at a wedding, Lewis' step-father Mr. Druffel tells him to go with how his heart feels. Stan stops the wedding and convinces Lewis he'll be happier single.
