Beside the Darkness was a Shadowlands Power that allowed the tainted individual to meditate for two hours causing any physical symptoms of the taint to recede. The taint became totally undetectable, and effects that would specifically harm tainted creatures had no effect. The effect of this power weared off abruptly at sunrise. The only shadowlands creatures, beside humans, known to have had this power were Bog Hags and Pennaggolan. During the time this power was active, no other Sahdowlands Power could be used, neither drew in the Shadowlands Taint or cast maho.
