The Confederated Colonial Republics, often called simply "The Republic", is the overarching galactic government. Since its founding, it has always been ruled by a member of the Carter family as President-for-life. The C.C.R. has a tripartite system of government, consisting of the President, the Confederated Congress, and the federal judiciary. Three military organizations and one police force defend the Republic: * The Red Army * The Republic Armada * The Republic Intelligence Agency * The Confederate Marshalls The capital of the C.C.R. is Avalon.
