The Kahlin class scout is a hover vehicle used by the Klingon Empire's military. These scouts served an essential requirement within the Klingon ground forces. The purpose of the Kahlin is to find and locate enemy targets as well as search for new resources to plunder. The primary reason for the lack of weaponry is because of the sheer size of the sensor system that is present on the scout. This made the craft being piloted commonly by younger Klingon warriors who demonstrate their courage by going into the battlefield, unarmed. This forces the pilot the rely on his comrades in battle - which in itself is a test of honour. This has also made many heroes among the scout pilot corps within the Klingon colonists.
