Walter Janowitz (January 18, 1913 — May 27, 1997) was a Czech-born character actor. Janowitz was born in Teplitz-Schönau, Austria-Hungary, now Teplice in the modern Czech Republic. He worked in Hollywood films and shows during the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s. This includes his role of Oscar Schnitzer on the sitcom, Hogan's Heroes. He died in 1997 in Corona, California.
