The House of Radiant Fog was a a large two-story wooden geisha house set back from the street, in the Licensed Quarter of the Second City. A large paper lantern hanged over the gate with the kanji for “fog” stenciled onto it. The geisha were charming young woman, skilled in serving food and drink and in various sorts of performance. In the late 12th century it was manned by a dour older woman named Satoka.
