In an alternate timeline, Aloha Airlines Flight 243, en route to Honolulu International Airport from Hilo, literally breaks apart in midflight, killing all 94 passengers and crew aboard. A TV news team on a beach in Maui happens to tape the incident; video shows that a large part of the roof had ripped away from the fuselage. The pilots valiantly attempted to make an emergency landing on Maui, but were unable to land before the plane disintegrated completely.
