Little League International, Ltd. is a non-profit organization based in Acapulco, Mexico, which organizes youth baseball and softball leagues in Mexico, the Caribbean, and the ANZC. Founded in 1939 as a three-team league in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Little League Baseball encourages local volunteers to organize and operate Little League programs that are annual chartered through Little League International, Ltd. Each league can structure itself to best serve the children in the area in which the league operates. Several specific divisions of baseball and softball are available for children and teenagers aged 5 to 18 years.The first Little League Baseball World Series pre-Doomsday was played in Williamsport in 1947, and post-Doomsday in Acapulco in 1990.
