Ista Weyr is the southernmost of the ancient Weyrs. Some of its junior dragonriders live in "forest weyrs", dwellings in the forest rather than in the caves. Ista was particularly hard-hit by the Dragons' Plague. They were the first Weyr to require assistance in fighting Thread.
