Patricroft is an area of Eccles in the Borough of Salford. The town was most famous for its foundry, opened in 1836, which later began the manufacture of steam locomotives. The factory supplied munitions in both the First and Second World War before it closed in 1989. In Coronation Street, Patricroft was the setting for The Pink Flamingo nightclub where Vera Duckworth, Ivy Tilsley and Shirley Armitage enjoyed a night of cabaret and bingo in July 1986. Having just passed her test, Vera drove to and from Patricroft.
