The Redrat is a type of tailless animal found on Cardassia. In late 2375, Kira Nerys saw a redrat in the sewers below Cardassia City when she, Elim Garak and Corat Damar were trapped underground by the detonation of one of their explosives. Kira, who had suffered head injuries in the blast, believed that the rat was talking to her. The redrat later helped them to find an opening so they could escape before the Dominion found them.
