Systematic Paleontology Order: Ceratitida Superfamily: Clydonitaceae Family: Buchitidae Genus: Eremites Eremites is a Late Triassic ammonite included in the ceratitid famly Buchitidae, found in the Alps. The shell is evolute, whorlssubquadrate, smooth in the adult stage but ribbed and with two rows of ventral tubercles early. More recently, Eremites has been placed in the Sandlingitidae established in 1971 which includes Traskites and Shastites removed from the Clionitidae and its type Sandlingites removed from the Clydonitidae.
