Baishakh (बैशाख), is the first month of Bikram Samwat calender. First day of this month is officially observed as a public holiday. People in western Nepal call this day as "Bishu" festival day (बिशु पर्ब). Indigenous people of Bhaktapur town also celebrate another festival called "Bisket" jaatraa (बिस्केट जात्रा) during the start of this new year.
