George William Mills (1876-21 January 1933) was a poor law officer and Labour Party politician active in the Poplar area. The son of George Partridge Mills, a publican, he was born in Whitechapel. In 1896, when he married Edith Catherine Plumpton, he was described as a "traveller". By 1901 he was a stationary engine driver, and living in Bromley in the Metropolitan Borough of Poplar. In 1906 he joined the Municipal Employees Association, by 1924 part of the National Union of General and Municipal Workers.
