Georges Atlas (1926-1996) was a French voice actor who dubbed Cookie Monster on 1, Rue Sésame, the first French co-production of Sesame Street, and in related albums. He also dubbed the High Priest in The Dark Crystal and various episodic roles on Monstres et Merveilles (The StoryTeller). Other animation roles include the Tasmanian Devil in the Looney Tunes shorts, the doorknob in Disney's Alice in Wonderland, the crocodile in Robin Hood, the Great Owl in The Secret of NIMH, various villains on Scooby-Doo, and Dr. Claw on Inspector Gadget.
