Honey or treacle rings are made from a light pastry and they are a traditional Maltese Christmas dessert. The Maltese word for these delicious small cakes is "Qaghaq ta' l-Ghasel". They are often served in small pieces as an after-dinner accompaniment to coffee. Even though they are mainly consumed during the Christmas season, you will find them in most confectioners all year round.
