It accommodates a fair amount of traffic and contrary to what was believed at one time, the citizens in Cities XL do not mind living on a small avenue at all and it does a fair job of alleviating traffic in light and medium density neighborhoods. The new zoning system in Cities XL 2011 allows the player to use Small Avenues while zoning. The small avenue can be upgraded into a 4 lane one-way road. NEXL also allows Small Avenues to receive bicycle lanes or tram tracks.
