Te'nari was one of the designations of the Bajoran D'jarra caste system. Te'nari were lower in the caste system than Ih'valla. The family of Bram Adir's mother were Te'nari, as were Akhere Juk and his family. (ST - Terok Nor novel: Night of the Wolves) In 2372, during the brief reintroduction of the D'jarra by Akorem Laan acting as the Emissary, Kira Nerys was surprised when a woman of the Te'nari caste gave her seat in the Replimat on Deep Space 9 to Kira, an Ih'valla.
