Beat is available for collecting all the plates in his first appearance. He is able to damage many bosses, except two bosses fought in the castle stages. In his next appearance, the player will need to find all the plates in four of the stages (in the boss doors). Beat, unlike his character in his first appearance, cannot damage any in-game bosses at all, thus being weakened.
