Shan-Fall is a traditional Minbari relationship ritual. Described as the "third movement of preparation," the ritual is a way for a couple to learn about one another's sexual responses before their relationship advances further. Prayer and meditation are important aspects of Shan-Fall, helping to maintain control and respect between the two partners. Although the ritual is carried out in private, others conduct their own meditation and prayer outside, ready to intervene if the couple becomes carried away in the pleasure of the moment.
