System 6.0.4 (Finder 6.1, System Software Update 6.0.4) was released in September 1989, and added support for the Macintosh IIci and Portable. The notable feature of System 6.0.4 is that it was deployed as a multi-disk install set with a unified Installer application, that could custom build your system disk based on the target hardware and desired features. Prior to 6.0.4, the disks were published with pre-configured System folders. System 6.0.4 was also the first version of the OS to support Hypercard.
