Yuka is a rich girl who owned a crystal known as the Blue Crystal, which was to be displayed at her birthday party in Act 4, and Luna, Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Nephrite suspected that it may be the Silver Crystal. She never got a chance to unveil the crystal as a Youma attacked her and possessed her to steal it.
