The Inorganic Survey Device, used to survey all kinds of inorganics, is a unique reward acquired by doing Eozlin's Village Quest, Senses: Find Village Wall Resources. To help rebuild the village’s wall, if you were at least Novice Artisan, you had to help finding 50% concentrations for 8 different resource types (Aluminium, Gemstone, Energy, Ore, Copper, Steel, Iron, Gas) where the concentration is greater than or equal to the mission requirements.
