When the Autobots arrived on Nebulos, Lord Zarak became convinced of their sinister intentions. When one of Zarak's friends was killed after struck by an Autobot motorcycle in the dark, Zarak felt he had his proof, and went on an all-out media war against the Autobots. Zarak was then promoted to Minister of Interior by Lord Galen to get Zarak out of Nebulos's space program, where he clashed with Galen's policy of capitulation to the Autobots. Zarak then used his newfound power to strike out further at Galen, as well as to rebuild the slums of Nebulos's crown city into a new technological marvel.
