Tabakow was a Starfleet officer who served aboard the USS Lysander under the command of Captain Mohammed Tafari, as a communications officer in the 2260s. Tabakow was on bridge duty when the Lysander was ordered to intercept the USS Enterprise and escort them to the planet Academy in 2269. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
