Jeff Barry is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. He began his association with the Monkees producing and arranging their second A-side, "I'm a Believer", and half the songs on their second album, More of the Monkees. He produced the band's third single, "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You" and its withdrawn B-side, "She Hangs Out", which he also co-wrote with his wife Ellie Greenwich. ("She Hangs Out" was later re-recorded by the Monkees in a Chip Douglas-produced version for their fourth album.) His initial association with the Monkees came to a sudden halt when the Monkees' music supervisor Don Kirshner was fired and the Monkees selected Douglas to produce their next record.
