The Vale of Arryn is one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Formerly a sovereign kingdom rules by the Kings of Mountain and Vale, it was subjugated by Aegon the Conqueror during his War of Conquest. Since then, House Arryn has ruled as Defenders of the Vale from their seat in the Eyrie.
