His name is a pun on "you genius". Upon his rescue he told a rather cynical summary of the Grubb legend of the Steef and the demon Oktigi, then proceeded to blow up a statue in honour to the Steef in the centre of the temple. After the statue fell, Eugene Ius purposely knocked Stranger into the newly formed way out, possibly because he was looking for the rumoured treasure of the temple for himself.
