Inhabitants of Carcosa. Depending upon the nature of Carcosa, it may be that there is no such thing as a born Carcosan. The term is specifically used in The Dream-Leech to refer to the potential beings who are characters in the Play and who require nourishment from or take form through its performance. Mr Wake states that "As long as there are humans, there will be Carcosans."
