This was a sort of semi-scam that took place inside of Edtropolis. In the scam, Edd agreed to shine shoes in exchange for a quarter. He only had one customer, Kevin, who after getting his shoes shined paid with nothing more than a bottle cap, calling it "life in the big city" when Edd complained. Edd soon abandoned the scam due to its failure.
