Mieke Wass was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century. In 2269, Lieutenant Commander Wass was the chief engineer of the USS Courageous, a Miranda-class starship. In 2270, the Courageous and the USS Enterprise were defending the Bajoran colony of Pillagra on planet R-855 II from an attack by the Ascendants. After the Courageous was rammed by an Ascendant starship, Wass rerouted power from damaged systems to keep the ship's life support systems operational. (TOS novel: Allegiance in Exile)
