A sebaceous cyst was a closed sac under the skin filled with a cheese-like or oily material. The term referred loosely to either epidermoid cysts or pilar cysts. In 2372, Miles O'Brien developed a sebaceous cyst on the back of his neck, which he found disgusting. Julian Bashir removed it. (DS9: "Bar Association")
