This Document is supposed to help new users on pubservers, it is written for 2.0, but most of it should be true for later releases, too. Sorry for my bad english; if some native speaker wants to translate this from my English to good English, please go ahead :) I will divide this document in three Parts: Technical, Social and Strategy. There's also a good FAQ for more specific-Questions. And some questions are so extremely frequent, that you really should read the FAQ after reading this document.
