Walker's biggest NASCAR related victory came in the 1977 Old Milwaukee 100 in the Winston West series event at Shasta Speedway in Anderson, California. Walker was narrowly defeated by Garrett Evans in the inaugural Northwest Tour event at Evergreen Speedway in 1985. Some of Walker's other career highlights include winning the 1976 Permatex 300 sportsman race at Riverside International Raceway, along with the prestegious Rose Classic open competition event at All-American Speedway in Roseville, California in 1977 holding off Joe Ruttman. Throughout his career, Walker mainly participated in open competition events on dirt and asphalt up and down the Pacific Coast region.
