The appearance of the Black Mage in The 4 Heroes of Light differs from the traditional Final Fantasy Black Mages, who traditionally have worn large pointy hats. The Black Mage is a good addition in battle since they reduce the AP cost for using Black Magic by one, and they have a high Intellect stat. Their downside is having low HP.
