The Rebel Alliance was an idealistic faction that opposed the Galactic Empire and the tyranny that it considered it to be. During it's existence it served as the primary opponent of Empire. Early in Year 8 the Rebel Alliance and Sorosuub Corporation merged to establish the New Republic.
