In the Elder days Morgoth had tried to ravish the Sun and sent out Black demons to attack the Moon. The Haradrim remembered these events as the Age of Vatra, the rule of the Fire-God who had burned the Lands and created the Great Desert and the Mirror of Fire. Remnants of Morgoth's Hosts still haunted the wastelands and remote wilderness of Haradwaith, these were the Demons of Vatra.
