Yogo Teiriko came from a family that was not wealthy. She claimed to have a cousin named Iseko. Teiriko married Shosuro Aroru in late 1154, becoming Shosuro Teiriko. Aroru would be gone for up to months at a time on duty, and Teiriko claimed she missed him. Six months into their marriage Aroru was ordered to assassinate Akodo Kaneka using a venom from the Islands of Spice and Silk. The attempt failed, because the poison had been replaced. The only person who could have changed the venom was Teiriko, and she was killed shortly after by Aroru.
